The City of Irvine (Calif.) selected MV Transportation Inc. to continue operation of its iShuttle service for a new contract term.
Irvine’s iShuttle provides morning and evening peak-hour service along four routes connecting the Irvine Metrolink Station, the Tustin Metrolink Station, John Wayne Airport, Irvine Spectrum, and the Irvine Business Complex. MV has operated the service since 2008.
The new contract term began March 31 and will extend four base years with two one-year renewal options. MV will continue to manage the operations and maintenance of the service.
MV Transportation has installed DriveCam, a vehicle monitoring system on each vehicle to ensure safe operations and protect its drivers and passengers. In addition, iShuttle utilizes MV’s proprietary TimePoint software to monitor and report on-time performance for the service. In the new term, MV will install automatic passenger counters, and an onboard video system at no additional charge.
