Canada chooses Nova Bus for ITS retrofit
The city of Sudbury’s ITS4mobility system will include next-stop vocal and visual announcements; GPS, for real-time location and schedule information; and text messaging for two-way communication.
The city of Sudbury,Ontario selected Nova Bus to retrofit their current bus fleet with the ITS4mobility Intelligent Transportation System (ITS.)
The system will then be factory-installed on subsequent Nova LFS vehicles delivered as part of a multi-year agreement, which extends to 2011.
The ITS4mobility system provides multiple communication and data processing functions; Sudbury’s configuration will include next-stop vocal and visual announcements.
Vehicles will be equipped with GPS, for real-time location and schedule information, and text messaging for two-way communication. The system also includes a diagnostic system that facilitates defect identification for enhanced productivity.
