New Flyer Industries Canada ULC, a subsidiary of New Flyer Industries Inc., announced that Canada’s London Transit Commission (LTC) has awarded New Flyer with a contract for 28 (or 29 equivalent units or EUs) New Flyer Xcelsior® buses.

The contract includes 27 40-foot and one (2 EUs) 60-foot Xcelsior clean diesel buses. The award is part of a contract extension from a Nov. 13, 2014 LTC contract, awarded to New Flyer, whereby a one-year extension on the contract was exercisable at the discretion of LTC.

New Flyer has built more than 250 transit buses for London Transit over the last 20 years. To date, 202 New Flyer buses are still servicing London's ridership.

These 28 buses will be used to replace an older fleet of New Flyer buses that have reached the end of their useful lifespan.
