CATS approves negotiating long-term contract with interim CEO

BATON ROUGE — A Capital Area Transit System committee today approved negotiating a long-term contract with CATS CEO Bob Mirabito, following several closed-door meetings in recent weeks at which committee members reviewed his performance as head of the system, according to Greater Baton Rouge Business Report.
Last fall, the board approved a contract for Mirabito that runs through the end of this year. He was first hired on an interim basis in May of last year, at a time when several board changes and the resignation of former CEO Brian Marshall had left the transit system on shaky ground, the report said.
