CDTA goes wireless on Xpress service

Customers can connect their laptop or PDA to the Internet through a wireless router, which has been installed on all NX buses.

The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) equipped its entire fleet of 15 NX Commuter Xpress service buses with WiFi, providing customers with a convenient amenity to enhance their trip to and from Saratoga, N.Y. and Albany, N.Y.

The WiFi service, provided through Sprint, has been tested over the last few months. Customers can connect their laptop or PDA to the Internet through a wireless router, which has been installed on all NX buses.

"We are making our services more attractive to customers by providing better amenities that make riding more convenient and comfortable," said CDTA Chairman David Stackrow. "Offering customers the ability to access email or browse for information makes their work trip more productive or relaxing as they choose."
