SAVANNAH, Ga.— Chatham Area Transit (CAT) is set to overhaul its paratransit service, adding more staff and vehicles to its fleet, Savannah Now reported.

In October, the CAT Board of Directors approved the use of federal grants and revenue from local sales tax to purchase 30 new vehicles, which are expected to be in circulation by the end of the first quarter of 2018.

CAT is also spending $31,500 on 25 mobile data terminals, which will replace its paper manifests and radio communications. The data terminals will allow for real-time updates on routes and cancellations, according to Savannah Now. To read the full story, click here.
