DES PLAINES, Ill. — Residents of the city of Des Plaines who are either 65 or older or have a disability may be eligible for a new Subsidized Taxicab Voucher Program that will provide a discount of $3 on cab rides, CBS Chicago reported. 

Residents must provide proof of residency, as well as age and/or disability, according to The Daily Herald. Accepted documents include a current driver’s license or state ID, a water bill, a birth certificate, passport, current Social Security disability statement or a State of Illinois placard application with a doctor’s signature.
