HARTFORD, Conn. — Following news of a $30 million federal award in high-speed rail funds was announced for the state, U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal is asking why Connecticut did not receive a bigger share of the $2 billion that became available after Florida Gov. Rick Scott turned down the federal money for a high-speed rail project, the AP reported.
Blumenthal told the AP that the state had sought $227 million and the award "will mean at least a slow-down" for a 62-mile rail project. For the full story, click here.
