Detroit bus drivers: Bedbugs on buses
About 50 Detroit DOT drivers have reported seeing the bugs on buses. The agency says that that any buses reported to have bedbugs will be cleaned and fumigated. The union says the agency needs to take more preventive measures.
DETROIT — About 50 Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT) drivers have reported seeing the bugs on buses, and some have been bitten within the past year, an Amalgamated Transit Union official told The Detroit News.
The DDOT chief executive told The Detroit News that any buses reported to have bedbugs will be cleaned and fumigated, and if that doesn't kill them, the maintenance crew can put the vehicle in a paint booth and kill the bugs with heat. However, the union says the agency needs to take more preventive measures. For the full story, click here.
