GCRTA adds articulated buses to its fleet
The new 62-foot buses, numbered 3001 to 3017, were placed into service in August, have a capacity of 100 riders and use ultra-low sulfur diesel.
The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) added 17 North American Bus Industries (NABI) articulated buses to its fleet, replacing the 40-foot vehicles that had outlived their useful life.
GCRTA passengers were introduced to the articulated vehicles in October 2008, when its HealthLine began operating on Euclid Avenue. Since then, many riders and community officials have encouraged GCRTA to offer these vehicles on other high-ridership routes.
The new 62-foot buses, numbered 3001 to 3017, were placed into service in August, have a capacity of 100 riders and use ultra-low sulfur diesel.
Three more vehicles will be delivered later this fall.
