Go West Transit is looking for a coordinator of its daily operation of fixed-route service to Western Illinois University and the city of Macomb, Ill.

This person would help to oversee a 30-bus, 12-route, 75-employee municipal transit system. Duties would include monitoring the contract with the service provider and the city, participating in planning and design of routes, completing monthly operating reports and quarterly audits and monitoring ridership and segment analysis.

The coordinator also supervises up to 20 students in differing operating functions, participates in marketing and advertising, attends and conducts appropriate meetings, coordinates special events, serves as vendor liaison and on other university committees as assigned.

The position requires an earned degree in transportation, business or management and experience in public transportation. The 12-month administrative position begins May 31, 2009, and pays approximately $42,000 per year.
