SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Golden Gate Transit completed the installation of new security camera systems from Apollo Video Technology, which they hope will increase security for passengers, help determine liability in accidents, and assist law enforcement, Marin Independent Journal.

The project replaced aged and obsolete security camera systems on existing buses and standardized camera systems across the 177-bus fleet. By using Wi-Fi technology already on buses, the video system allows for real-time video streaming, as well as remote downloads to view footage as needed. The technology also lets operators know electronically if part of the system is not working, an aspect dubbed “remote health monitoring.” For the full story, click here.
