Two people died Monday when a passenger slashed the throat of a Greyhound bus driver in California, causing the bus to careen out of control. Dozens of other passengers were injured after the bus, heading from Los Angeles to San Francisco, flipped on its side. The bus, carrying 49 passengers, slid onto a cotton field about 500 feet off of the freeway. The assailant, a 27-year-old male transient from the Los Angeles area, was taken into custody and booked on two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. The motive for the attack is still unknown, but it is not believed to be terrorist related. The driver is currently in stable condition at a local hospital.
