Hawaii rail project employing more than 1,000 workers

HONOLULU — Dan Grabauskas, CEO/executive director of the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) told Pacific Business News the transit agency’s $5.16 billion rail project is now employing 1,042 workers.
Nearly one-half of the workers are employed by Kiewit Infrastructure West Co., building the rail’s columns and guideways, and 188 of them are working for Ansaldo Honolulu Joint Venture, designing the railcars and system.
Additionally, more jobs will be created as construction ramps up, a HART spokeswoman told the paper. For the full story, click here.
