HDR wins N.Y. MTA research contract

Three-year contract to help agency with planning, development.

HDR (Henningson, Durham and Richardson, Architecture & Engineering P.C.) has been selected as one of the firms providing transportation planning services for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).

HDR is also one of the architectural and engineering firms hired to manage construction of the No. 7 subway line extension for the agency. The three-year contract with HDR is for providing market research to identify priorities and strategies for business development, capital improvements, service planning and policy-making decisions. The goal of the market research program is to help MTA become more cost effective and responsive to customer needs.

Market research provided by HDR will include origin and destination surveys, environmental and economic impact studies, and analysis of future transportation needs and services. Additional studies will include new technologies for toll crossings, new payment systems and surveys on specific railroads and subway lines.
