The United Motorcoach Association (UMA) announced that National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Chairman Deborah Hersman and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrator (FMCSA) Anne Ferro are scheduled to speak at the 2012 UMA Motorcoach EXPO in Long Beach, Calif., in February.

Chairman Hersman will speak on NTSB safety initiatives, during the "Legislative & Regulatory Update" session Thursday, Feb. 9, from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m at the Long Beach Convention Center. Ferro will also speak during that session.

Hersman was presented with a plaque at UMA's Motorcoach EXPO in 2005 for her support of motorcoach industry safety initiatives during her years with the Senate commerce committee, but this will be her first visit to EXPO since being tapped to head up the NTSB. To allow her to experience the latest safety technologies being utilized on coaches today, UMA has arranged for the Chairman to be transported from Los Angeles International Airport to Long Beach on a new MCI featuring advanced safety technologies.

UMA's Motorcoach EXPO 2012 is scheduled for February 8 to 12, with a focus on elevating the industry. The event will feature new and timely education sessions on topics critical to motorcoach professionals, as well as 150 industry suppliers on the tradeshow floor and a variety of networking and social functions open to all attendees.
