MARTA to co-sponsor PPP workshop
Participants will review best practices and explore options for expanding transit infrastructure and services through public-private partnerships.
The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), along with other transit, transportation and planning agencies, will co-host the first 2009 workshop in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for Transit Series conducted by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships (NCPPP) March 25 to 26 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.
The event will cover the language of PPPs; the federal stimulus package and implications for transit projects; statutory and regulatory requirements; factors in financing transit PPPs and an overview of case studies throughout the country.
Participants will review best practices and explore options for expanding transit infrastructure and services through public-private partnerships.
MARTA is sponsoring the event in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Transportation, Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, Cumberland Commuter Club, Perimeter Community Improvement Districts, Florida Department of Transportation, Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority, New Orleans Regional Transit Authority, Charlotte Area Transit System, Miami Dade County, Herzog Contracting Corporation, Infrastructure Management Group, Parson Brinckerhoff, American Water, AON, CH2M HILL OMI, Southwest Water Company, United Water and Veolia Water.
