MBTA forgives $839K in fines stemming from 2015 winter performance

BOSTON — The MBTA agreed to waive $839,000 of the $1.7 million in penalties leveled against Keolis — the company that operates its commuter rail system — CBS Boston reports.
The fines stem from sub-par performance in the winter of 2015, when thousands of commuters were left stranded or running late. Keolis blamed the weather for its poor performance.
