With tour and charter operators operating under the tight margins of the current economy, Motor Coach Industries (MCI) is making it financially feasible for more of its customers to enjoy the type of test-drive and educational opportunities usually associated with trade shows.

“MCI in Motion 2010” is the manufacturer’s roadshow tour that brings its models, services and training expertise directly to operators free of charge. The one-day events will include demonstrations of MCI J4500 and D4500 models as well as seminars covering business and technical topics important to operators.

The MCI in Motion 2010 tour kicks off at the Angel Stadium in California, Feb. 16, with a stop in Orlando March 9. MCI will also roll into Nashville, Dallas, Chicago and New Jersey before summer is over.

Customers will be able to drive or ride MCI J4500 and D4505 models and learn more about standard safety performance technologies including electronic stability control. Those riding aboard the J4500, the industry’s best seller, will experience its smooth, wide-ride suspension.  MCI sales representatives will be available to look at potential trade-ins. A selection of MCI pre-owned coaches will also be on display.

MCI has also scheduled sessions on its plans for 2010 engines, a full-coach review outlining new options including three-point seat belts, and what operators can do to protect their equipment investments and trade-in values.

Business seminars will cover how to present one’s business to the financial community.  For those on a technical track, MCI technical experts will offer training on engine regeneration, the Smartwave tire pressure monitoring system, and diagnostics from the driver’s seat.

The American Bus Association’s Brandon Buchanan will discuss government grant opportunities available to private operators.
