New coaches also feature retooled cooling systems, refined onboard diagnostics

Orange County, New York and Toronto’s GO Transit will take delivery of the first MCI commuter coaches with 2007 EPA-compliant engines. MCI will begin delivery of 23 D4505 coaches with 2007 Detroit Diesel engines and Allison transmissions to Orange County in the third quarter of 2007, while Go Transit will receive 20 D4500CT’s, featuring 2007 Caterpillar engines and Allison B500 transmissions, beginning this summer. Both the Cat and Detroit Diesel engines are designed to reduce particulate matter and run on ultra low sulfur diesel fuel. MCI also has a Cummins engine option available. In addition to redesigning the coaches to accommodate the new engines, MCI has also retooled its cooling systems to add more capacity, reduce noise and parasitic draw; refined its onboard diagnostics systems and given a sleeker look to the commuter coaches’ rear.
