Megabus expands New York service

Riders can now travel from New York to Hartford, Conn., and Amherst, Mass., for as low as $1. To celebrate the expansion, megabus.com is offering 1,000 free seats for travel Dec. 15 through Jan. 15.

New York City residents can now travel to Hartford, Conn., and Amherst, Mass., for as low as $1. On Tuesday, Megabus.com, a city-to-city, express bus company announced that it will expand its New York service and begin daily routes to and from these cities on Dec. 15.

           

Megabus.com will offer two daily departures on this route from its departure location at on the west side of 9th Avenue, just north of the intersection of 9th Avenue and 31st Street.

With the addition of these cities, megabus.com now serves 16 cities from its New York hub.

 

To celebrate this major service expansion, megabus.com is offering 1,000 free seats for travel Dec. 15 through Jan. 15. The free seats will be available on megabus.com departures to and from Amherst and Hartford. Customers will need to use the promo code NEWNYC when booking their tickets via www.megabus.com (subject to availability on select dates, routes).

 

Customers are encouraged to book early to secure $1 fares. Fares always start as low as $1 and get higher as the traveling date gets closer.

 

Megabus.com, a subsidiary of Coach USA, launched in April 2006 and has served more than 7 million travelers. In addition to low fares, megabus.com offers customers environmentally-friendly buses, free Wi-Fi, power outlets and restrooms.

Additionally, routes to and from Pittsburgh and State College, Penn., will be doubled to four daily departures.
