LOS ANGELES — Claiming that films like the current blockbuster “Insurgent” glamorize the dangers of moving trains, Metrolink created its own public service announcements, which it plans to show in Southern California movie theaters beginning this summer, reported CBS LA.
In January, George Gregory “Greg” Plitt Jr., a reality television star, was killed by a train in Burbank during a film shoot on the tracks. Since his death, the rail system says Hollywood has become more aware of the dangers around train tracks, but the focus is now on moviegoers who officials hope will not try to mimic movie scenes.
