North American Bus Industries Inc. (NABI) has appointed new management in anticipation of its alignment with Optima Bus LLC and Blue Bird Corp. James Bernacchi has joined NABI as senior vice president and general manager of transportation and coach operations. Bernacchi has more than 35 years of experience in the industry with Chrysler Corp., Motor Coach Industries and ABC Bus Companies. He most recently served as vice president of operations for Complete Coach Works. Joseph Gibson will also join NABI as senior vice president for transit sales and marketing. With more than 30 years experience, Gibson’s experience includes stints with General Motors Truck and Bus, Transportation Manufacturing Corp., NOVA Bus and Optima. He most recently served as vice president of sales and marketing for Muncie Transit Supply. In addition, Bill Coryell, who recently served as vice president of sales and marketing for NABI, will assume the position of vice president of Western regional transit sales. He will also retain responsibility for several key accounts in other parts of the U.S.
