As part of an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and providing the most efficient services, several personnel changes have been made to the organizational structure of both the Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) and Regional Transportation Authority (RTA).
MTA assumed management of the RTA's Music City Star and regional bus services in December of 2008.
Lora Baulsir, who most recently served as director of customer care for the MTA and chief administrative officer for the RTA, now serves as the full-time GM of the RTA, while Bob Baulsir, who previously served as COO, now serves as GM, administration, for MTA and RTA.
In addition, Dawn Distler, who most recently served as operations manager, has been promoted to GM, operations and maintenance for MTA and RTA with Eric Beyer, Easy Ride manager, now taking on added responsibilities as Metro Council liaison in addition to overseeing the EasyRide program, which is an employer-supported and funded transportation benefits program for the employees of area businesses, universities and governmental agencies.
The historic initiative represents the first time since MARTA began bus operations in the early 1970s that the entire system has been redrawn from scratch.
