NTSB determines cause of Oklahoma State U. homecoming crash

STILLWATER, Okla. — The National Transportation Safety Board determined that the cause of last year's fatal Oklahoma State University homecoming parade crash was the failure, "due to emotional distress," of the driver to comply with traffic barricades used to block the roadway, The Oklahoman reports.
The driver, Adacia Avery Chambers, is accused by prosecutors of driving her car with a depraved mind through police barricades and into a crowd killing four and injuring dozens more. According to the NTSB’s report, data indicates Chambers' vehicle was traveling at 54 mph five seconds before hitting a police motorcycle at 59 mph. She then continued into the crowd.
