NTSB to hold public hearing on coach accident
The one-and-a-half day hearing will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the NTSB’s board room and conference center in Washington, D.C.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will hold a public hearing on the fatal motorcoach accident that occurred Jan. 2, 2008 near Victoria, Texas, which fatally injured one person, with the remaining 46 passengers and the driver sustaining minor to serious injuries.
The one-and-a-half day hearing will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the NTSB’s board room and conference center in Washington, D.C.
The hearing will focus on the importation, registration and operation of passenger-carrying commercial vehicles that do not comply with the U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).
Under Federal law, these types of vehicles, which include motorcoaches, must meet the FMVSS standards to operate in the U.S.
