OL will participate in Amtrak’s National Train Day events in Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington D.C., as well as celebrating at smaller events in locations across the country. During the following week, OL will be intensifying efforts to educate people on how to safely navigate around tracks and on crossings.
Vehicle-train collisions have dropped by more than 75 percent nationwide since 1972, when OL began. National Train Day commemorates the completion of the first transcontinental railroad in 1869. For more information on National Train Day, visit www.nationaltrainday.com.
