WASHINGTON, D.C. — New York Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles E. Schumer said they would co-sponsor motorcoach safety legislation recently reintroduced by Sen. U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), following the fatal bus accident last weekend in New York, according to lohud.com.
Meanwhile, U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) called on the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Ray LaHood to move forward in implementing safety measures outlined in DOT's Motorcoach Safety Action Plan, according to the State Column.
