LONDON — In a study conducted by Imperial College London, researchers analyzed data on the travel habits of 16,900 people over four years and found that free bus passes encouraged people over the age of 60 to be more physically active, regardless of financial status, BBC News reported.

Between 2005 and 2008, the period of time in which the number of free bus pass recipients rose, there was an increase in the percentage of bus pass holders walking three or more times a week. For the full story, click here.
