CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Chattanooga transportation officials have identified key target areas in a new study as they seek to add travel options in the city, Times Free Press reported.

Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) is conducting a study to identify short-, mid- and long-term goals for the city and examine several transportation options, including parking, car sharing, pedestrian accessibility, bicycle parking, taxi services and possible future rail service.

Officials are planning to add three electric buses to the city's fleet, make GoogleMaps available for trip planning, and study how to add bus routes to a job center that employs more than 5,000 people. The big-picture plan is to unveil a multimodal transportation center in the downtown area.  

The federally-funded study is expected to be complete by the end of 2015, with a location picked out for the transportation center. For the full story, click here.
