Texas Tech. rail project seeking fed investment
The goal is to link students to the cultural district and ultimately bring a youthful presence back to downtown.
LUBBOCK, Texas — Using a major chunk of the $25,000 reimbursement funds allocated to the downtown master developer, McDougal Cos. hired Dallas-based Public Information Associates to put presentations together for federal lobbyists in hopes of securing a grant to help fund a rail project connecting Texas Tech to downtown Lubbock, according to Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.
The goal of the railway project is to link Tech students to the cultural district and ultimately bring a youthful presence back to downtown. In combination with the rail system, plans for student housing are also in the works. For the full story, click here.
