Toronto considers barriers to prevent suicides
The TTC reported 18 suicide attempts, 77 unauthorized entry into tracks and 14 accidental falls this year on its system.
TORONTO — The Toronto Transit Commission hopes to prevent suicides on its subway system by installing barriers at its stations, according to an All Headline News article. These anti-suicide barriers, which are already in use in systems in London, Paris, Barcelona and Hong Kong, would cost $10 million per station.
