TORONTO — CTV News reports that Metrolinx has admitted it occasionally shares location date from its reloadable smart cards with the local police.
The agency said it has received 26 requests so far in 2017 from police forces for “tap history” from Presto cards and has granted 12 of the requests, with half of them related to missing persons and the other half related to alleged crimes, including assault, sexual assault, and indecent exposure.
