Two charged in Greyhound hijack attempt
Passengers wrestled man while driver stopped the bus.
A man and woman were booked on charges of attempted theft of a motor vehicle and terrorist threats after trying to take control of a Greyhound bus on Wednesday night. The man, who tried to take control of the bus and flip the vehicle after ranting about hijackings, was overpowered by other passengers before causing any damage. There were 44 passengers on the bus traveling from Portland, Ore., to Nashville, Tenn. The couple got out of the bus, which stopped about 15 miles east of Salt Lake City, and waved down a passing car. The couple allegedly told the car's driver that people were trying to kill them. The driver took them to a gas station and gave them money, later calling 911. The man and woman are thought to be mentally unstable.
