U.K. town to replace buses with driverless pods
Each pod, which has a battery-powered electric motor, can hold up to two people and their luggage and travels just 12 mph.

MILTON KEYNES, U.K. — Milton Keynes, a town north of London, plans to deploy 100 driverless pods as a public transportation system and have it up and running by 2015, Phys.org reported.
A similar system has been operating for two years at Heathrow airport. Each pod, which has a battery-powered electric motor, can hold up to two people and their luggage and travels just 12 mph. Plans call for the pods to carry passengers between the downtown area, the business district and the train station, according to the report.
