
INNISFIL, Ontario — A rural Canadian town is being heralded as the most recent success story of what happens when ride-hailing companies step in to provide public transportation options, according to a report by Vice’s Motherboard.
Innsifil, Ontario, located near Toronto, didn’t have a public transportation system, so city leaders partnered with Uber to bring subsidized rides to the city’s 36,000 residents in 2017.
