University of Washington expands U-PASS program
Students, faculty and staff can now use their U-PASS to ride free on buses operated by Pierce Transit, Everett Transit and Kitsap Transit.
University of Washington (UW) students, faculty and staff can now use their U-PASS to ride free on buses operated by Pierce Transit, Everett Transit and Kitsap Transit.
This is an expansion of the U-PASS program, which previously allowed the UW community to ride free on King County Metro, Community Transit and Sound Transit buses and Sounder Commuter Rail. Now, all UW commuters to Harborview, and UW campuses in Seattle, Tacoma and Bothell can ride free with the U-PASS.
UW officials said including the three new agencies allows more than 6,000 staff, faculty and students to use their U-PASS for local bus service for the first time. “That’s a big deal,” Joshua Kavanagh, director of UW Transportation Services, told The Daily, UW’s campus newspaper.
