Va. woman struck by bus awarded $4.5M
The driver had reportedly been in four other accidents in the previous 18 months but was allowed to stay behind the wheel.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — A woman who was run over and pinned by an Alexandria DASH bus last year was awarded $4.5 million in damages by a circuit court jury, The Washington Post reported.
The woman was hit in the back by the bus driver who was turning left as she was crossing the street. She was then pulled under the front left wheel of the bus and pinned there for about a minute, until the driver backed the bus off her. The driver had been in four other accidents in the previous 18 months but was allowed to stay behind the wheel, according to the report. For the full story, click here.
