Veolia unit to service Jackson, Miss. operation
PTM provides transit management, labor relations/collective bargaining and management consulting services to clients within the public transportation industry.
The city of Jackson, Miss. selected Professional Transit Management Ltd. (PTM) to manage JATRAN, its public transportation service, effective August 15, 2009.
Sam Tensley, an 11-year transit veteran with managerial experience at transit systems in Indianapolis, Ind.; Alexandria, Va.; Danville, Ill.; and El Monte, Calif., is JATRAN's new GM.
JATRAN's fleet of 47 vehicles provides public transportation services throughout the Jackson, Miss area; more than 800,000 passenger trips are operated on an annual basis.
A division of Veolia Transportation and headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, PTM is a national transit management company, which provides transit management, labor relations/collective bargaining and management consulting services to clients within the public transportation industry. It currently manages 19 transit systems throughout the U.S., and provides labor and consulting services to additional 15 to 20 transit systems.
