By unanimous vote, the Phoenix City Council awarded Veolia Transportation a new five-year $386 million contract to provide bus management services to the City of Phoenix Public Transit Department, operating from its north and south transit facilities.
Under this new contract, Veolia will now be responsible for all aspects of service operations for 353 buses operating throughout the Valley, including daily street operations, passenger care, safety, vehicle cleanliness and maintenance, and on-time performance. It will also employ more than 870 employees and oversee three collective bargaining agreements.
