Veolia Transportation has been awarded a contract to operate Stanford University's Marguerite Shuttle bus service. The contract is for three years with a one-year extension option.
The announcement was made Sept. 30 by Ron Bushman, Veolia Transportation's regional vice president for Northern California.
The fleet of 43 vehicles operates seven days per week and serves the entire campus, including the university's medical center. This service will also extend to two Caltrain stations that transport approximately 5,000 Stanford students, employees and faculty to the campus each day.
The company has named Gregg Eisenberg general manager for the shuttle bus contract. Eisenberg has 14 years of transportation experience, having previously served as the lead supervisor for the Regional Center for East Bay in Oakland, Calif., and as general manager for Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA) in Lancaster, Calif.
