New Flyer of America Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of New Flyer Industries Inc. announced that Oshkosh, Wis.-based GO Transit, acting through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, has exercised an option with New Flyer of America for five Xcelsior® clean diesel, forty-foot heavy-duty transit buses and two Xcelsior® clean diesel, thirty five-foot heavy-duty transit buses, which will be converted from the backlog.
“We are proud to support GO Transit in upgrading its fleet with clean diesel buses,” said Wayne Joseph, President of New Flyer of America. “This most recent order continues our commitment to GO Transit in providing reliable, affordable, and accessible public transportation in the city and surrounding communities of Oshkosh.”
GO Transit operates on a fixed-route system providing bus service to over one million passengers per year. Bus purchases are subsidized, in part, with Federal Transit Administration funds.
