GOODYEAR, Ariz. — A Greyhound bus smashed head-on into a car going the wrong way on a suburban Phoenix highway over the weekend, killing the car’s driver and leaving 13 bus passengers with minor injuries, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Investigators suspect the driver was impaired by drugs or alcohol when she hit the bus carrying 36 people from San Bernardino, Calif., to Phoenix on the heavily used Interstate 10. Arizona Department of Public Safety officials said the bus driver “did an amazing job” keeping the vehicle upright after one of its front wheels was damaged in the high-speed collision.
