TSSSA Details

Covering all current and future Stadler EMUs operated by Caltrain, the TSSSA underscores the commitment to delivering superior service for Bay Area commuters.

Under the TSSSA, Stadler will employ a dedicated team of 14 specialists based in California.

The team will support reliable operations and maximize the performance of Caltrain’s fleet, so customers have a safe and world-class experience. The contract also allows both parties to opt-in the future battery EMU pilot train into this agreement.

Building on an Existing Relationship

Caltrain’s partnership with Stadler began in 2017 with the order of 16 KISS electric train sets

The order was later expanded to 23 train sets, and the majority of the fleet, built by and delivered from Stadler’s Salt Lake City location, began revenue service in September 2024.
