RATP (Regie Autonome des Transports Parisiens) and French national railway operator SNCF chose Alstom for the interior fitting of 119 suburban trains that operate on line B of the lle-de-France regional express (RER) network.

The order, which is valued at $150.6 million (USD), will be managed by RATP. Alstom will conduct studies and supply the upgrade kit for a pre-series trainset, including air conditioning equipment, cabling and seats, and take part in the assembly of the trainset with RATP.
During the second phase, Alstom will supply upgrade kits for the other 118 trainsets, the updating of assembly documentation and the training of the RATP and SNCF teams in charge of the upgrade.
Trainsets are set to begin delivery in the first quarter of 2010 and continue at a rhythm of between 18 and 46 units per year.
