ARINC Inc. was awarded a contract to provide a new central control system for NJ Transit’s Newark light rail operations.
ARINC will design and install an integrated light rail central control system, based on the company’s Advanced Information Management (AIM) Rail Control software platform. The fully-integrated AIM system will provide NJ Transit with a highly reliable and scalable solution for its centralized rail operations.
ARINC is a provider of passenger rail control systems in North America. The company has designed and built more than 28 rail operation control systems for major transit authorities, including the Centralized Electrification and Traffic Control system for Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor Operations.
The Newark Light Rail system provides more than 21,000 passenger trips on 460 scheduled trains daily, serving 17 stations in the City of Newark, N.J. and surrounding communities.
