WASHINGTON, D.C. — Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) police arrested approximately 40 protestors who took to the streets during demonstrations in San Francisco that worsened traffic and caused the agency to shut down train service to two stations, the AP reported.
Agency police arrested four demonstrators on the platform for trespassing on transit property, closed the station and forced the remaining protesters above ground onto the city's busy Market Street. Protestors expressed frustration over BART's shutting wireless service in its downtown San Francisco stations Aug. 11 to calm a protest that day. For the full story, click here.
