HAYWARD — As part of a crackdown at its Hayward Station, Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) officials have begun issuing tickets to AC Transit bus drivers who park their buses at the station KPIX5 reports.

The station is a hub for AC Transit and many bus drivers begin and end their shifts here, with a lot of them parking their cars in the BART lot while they’re working. Technically, AC Transit drivers are supposed to park at a bus facility on the south side of town and take a shuttle to the BART station. They say that process can add up to an hour on each end of their day.

BART says it can’t afford to lose dozens of spaces to non-riders each day, even if they are the very people who make public transit to the station possible. For the full story, click here.
