In METRO's latest installment, we cover partnerships in Pennsylvania, California, and more.
Pa.’s Butler Transit Authority (BTA) launched its new mobile ticketing platform, RideBTA, developed in partnership with
.
The innovative RideBTA platform allows passengers to effortlessly plan, purchase, and validate their fares using their smartphones. This system is implemented across all Butler Transit Authority bus routes, including four local fixed routes and commuter runs between Butler and Pittsburgh, providing an integrated and contactless ticketing solution.
BTA becomes the eighth transit authority in Pennsylvania to partner with Modeshift, joining a growing list of transit agencies embracing digital fare collection and data optimization to improve transportation services.
LYT signed a contract with the Calif.’s Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) and the city of Fullerton for a one-year pilot program and the implementation of LYT’s leading NextGen transit priority solution (TSP), LYT.transit.
Serving as the primary contractor for TSP under the Master Service Agreement with Arcadis,
will help solve congestion issues for traffic signals across the busy corridor of Harbor Blvd.
LYT’s leading transit signal priority solution, LYT.transit, moves bus transit vehicles through congested intersections faster, safer, and more intelligently.
Harnessing the power of a single-edge device installed in the Traffic Management Center, bus transit vehicles speak directly to networked traffic signals through LYT’s open architecture cloud platform. This results in a consistent and reliable green light for every bus transit vehicle in the network.
Balfour Beatty, who submitted the lowest responsible bid through a public bidding process to Civic Communities, was awarded approximately $9 million to deliver the next phase of City of San Diego’s Park Boulevard at-Grade Crossing project.
Located near Petco Park and within the railroad right-of-way tracks of the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway, San Diego and Imperial Valley Railroad, and the Metropolitan Transit System, the new at-grade railroad crossing will provide a new vehicular roadway to connect Harbor Drive to Park Boulevard in downtown San Diego.
Balfour Beatty will execute demolition activities to remove existing tracks and overhead catenary systems equipment. The team will also dispose of ballast and provide excavation and soil monitoring services.
Additionally, Balfour Beatty will construct new railroad tracks and install overhead catenary system improvements and railroad signal infrastructure.
