Boston to Cape Cod rail service to be reinstated
The service will be available in 2013 after being shut down two decades ago. Currently, the only mass transit option between Boston and Cape Cod is buses.
BOSTON — In the summer of 2013, rail service from Boston to Cape Cod will run for the first time in more than two decades. MassDOT, the MBTA and the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority will finalize details such as schedules and fares this winter, reported Boston.Com.
Currently, the only mass transit option between Boston and Cape Cod is buses. The additional service would be cost neutral and could ease the T’s debt by increasing ridership. To read the full story, click here.
